Partly filmed and edited during a stay in Upstate New York using recordings from London, Tuscany and various other places, Preview, 2016 consists of a series of associative image/text collages. The clips are reminiscent of home videos (vacations, fireworks, listing to music on the car radio), images and text flow into and out of each other. I thought of Chantal Akerman's News from Home from 1977, with its long shots of New York’s empty streets, compiled to the words of the filmmaker’s mother writing to her from Brussels. In Preview however, the camera always stays close and the language creates a connection between what is seen – randomly visited places – and what is suggested – a supposed closeness – through the text. The narrative leaves room for a viewer to become involved.

Reflecting on selfhood, putative authenticity and it's valorisation, Self, i. e., 2018 follows three prospective candidates applying for a performance piece by a contemporary artist in which they are expected to perform themselves and contrasts them with the experiences and retrospective thoughts of a performer of a previous iteration of the same piece elsewhere.
