Untitled (Japan) by Peter Fischli and David Weiss is a "rather unfinished” Rat and Bear film. A rat is dozing in the shade of an old Japanese house. A blue-nosed panda appears and waves to the drowsy rodent. Together they stroll through the idyllic gardens, sniffing at each other in the pavilion, feasting on lush moss, feeding koi fish and marveling at all sorts of crawling and flying things. A lazy afternoon, you might call it, lost in translation. We watch two animals who seem quite human in their clumsiness when it comes to dealing with their own creatureliness and that of the animals around them, whose beguiling twittering and chirping provides the soundtrack for the film.
